Zero emission zone is an area that restricts specified vehicle access using zero-tailpipe-emission eligibility or another locally defined zero-emission rule. Its exact coverage and exemptions depend on the scheme, and reducing exhaust emissions does not remove the need to manage space, pedestrian safety, loading conflicts, or other transport impacts.
