Curb management
Curb audit
Audit du curb
Curb audit is a systematic review of street-edge conditions, regulations, and performance against defined objectives. It combines document checks and field observations to identify inconsistent rules, missing infrastructure, access barriers, or operational conflicts, with findings tied to locations and an explicit observation period.
Understanding the term
An audit should separate verified defects from hypotheses needing further measurement. A photograph of one blocked loading bay establishes an incident; it does not establish how often that obstruction occurs across the district.
Planning begins with a location-specific statement of the problem and the public function that needs protection. Field observations should be compared with the applicable legal record, including exceptions and temporary changes. Document the users affected, the period examined, and the alternatives available nearby. An evaluation should test access, safety, and operational reliability together, because moving an activity elsewhere can transfer a conflict rather than resolve it.
