Charging load management
Gestion de la puissance de recharge
Charging load management is the coordination of charging power across equipment or time to respect electrical limits or operational objectives. It can distribute available capacity between vehicles, while user information should explain the possibility of reduced power and the difference between a connector’s rated capacity and the power actually supplied.
Understanding the term
Load management can avoid exceeding a site limit but does not remove all grid constraints. Planning still needs the utility’s assessment and a realistic forecast of simultaneous demand.
Planning should connect electrical service requirements with the use of public space. Verify equipment compatibility, utility capacity, accessible operation, pedestrian clearance, payment information, and maintenance responsibilities before selecting a final layout. Distinguish equipment status from legal parking availability and from successful charging experienced by users. Review performance under realistic simultaneous demand and vehicle positions, and explain any limitations so that published capacity is not mistaken for a guaranteed service at every moment.
