Open curb data

Données ouvertes du curb

Open curb data is curb information published under conditions that allow public access and reuse. Useful open datasets can describe locations, regulations, and aggregated activity, while licenses, documentation, update frequency, and privacy review determine whether the information can be reused responsibly and interpreted beyond its original publishing organization.

Understanding the term

Openness should not expose unnecessary personal information. Publish the least detailed data that serves the public purpose, with a correction channel and a clear statement of limitations.

An implementation should document its version, identifiers, time conventions, geographic accuracy, and supported fields. Test representative exchanges between the actual participating systems, including exceptions and updates. Assign responsibility for correcting discrepancies between published information, legal records, and the street. Collect only information needed for a defined purpose and apply suitable access and retention controls. A successful technical exchange does not by itself prove that the data is current, legally authoritative, or suitable for enforcement.
